2026 Scholarship

Boots to Scrubs in 2026 is expanding to help more medical students!  

Our First scholarship of 2026 will the $10,000 Boots to Scrubs pre-clinical scholarship.

  • Applications are open from the 1st of March to the 31st of March 2026.

  • The scholarship will be open to female medical students in accredited Australian medical degrees in their pre-clincial years.

    (This is before you start clinical years with majority clinical placement. For most universities this will be 1st and or 2nd year of study.) 

  • Please note that if you have previously won a Boots to Scrubs scholarship you will no longer be eligible to re-apply in the interest of equity.  

 

Please fill out the application below and submit a signed copy of the proof of Verification of rural and remote status with your application. The endorser on this application must be someone in the community with who knows you and is a professional willing to be contacted.

  • Examples include local doctors, lawyers, vets, nurses, JP’s and school teachers. Please note this must be completed and submitted with your application or your application will not be approved.

The selection panel is seeking applicants who show dedication to their community, a commitment to healthcare, and a clear need for support. The Boots to Scrubs Scholarship aims to ease financial pressure so students can focus on their studies—and ultimately give back to the communities that inspired them. 

As part of the application process, applicants are asked to provide information about: 

1. Your StoryShare who you are, your background, and what has shaped your journey so far. We encourage applicants to reflect on their rural upbringing or connection to rural life, and how these experiences have influenced their drive to enter the healthcare field. 

2. Your Current Study PathwayProvide details about your current course or planned healthcare studies. This may include your institution, year level, areas of interest, and your long‑term aspirations within the healthcare sector. 

3. Your Financial NeedDemonstrate your financial circumstances and explain how this scholarship would support your education. You may be asked to upload supporting documentation such as financial statements, Centrelink information (if applicable), or any other evidence that helps us understand your current situation.
