Therapeutic Guidelines is an independent not-for-profit organisation. Its aim is to promote the quality use of medicines, which it does through the development, publication and sale of Therapeutic Guidelines.

Its reputation is staked not only on its publications but also its independence. With no reliance on any form of government funding or commercial interests it is financially self-sufficient, relying on the Australian healthcare community to fund the guidelines through subscriptions.

Therapeutic Guidelines are written principally for prescribers to provide them with clear, practical, succinct and up-to-date therapeutic information for a range of conditions. They are based on the latest international literature, interpreted by some of Australia’s most respected experts, with input from an extensive network of general practitioners and other users.

Dr Grace Maano is a GP Obstetrician and Rural Generalist who spends her time working across the Northern Territory and rural Queensland including Thursday Island, Dalby and Innisfail hospitals. Dr Grace also regularly contributes to a number of Rotary projects including Oceania Medical Aid for Children and Obstetric Emergency Train-the-Trainer workshops which aim to reduce the high maternal and neonatal mortality rate in developing countries, with recent trips to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Botswana, Nepal and the Philippines.

Growing up with 11 siblings and the loss of her mother at a young age, Dr Grace faced many challenges during her medical education in the Philippines. As a past scholarship recipient during her medical degree, Dr Grace often pays it forward and says “it is a privilege to be able to help aspiring rural women in Australia achieve their dream to become a doctor”.
